We collaborated with a number of local partners to deliver part of the Ambition for Aging programme, led by GMCVO. Our Social Eating programme sought to increase the number of opportunities for older people to come together and eat communally in Greater Manchester. We developed a toolkit to help reduce social isolation through community eating projects, explored the role food plays in these settings, and worked with community leaders to build social capital and local food networks. Through this work we worked to understand how we can increase food democracy and sovereignty ultimately building a more sustainable food system.
